Mentor Development

For September, the challenges will center around the theme of Back to School. This week’s challenge is to work with your mentee to set SMART goals. Use this document to talk through some personal, behavioral and/or academic goals that you will monitor and track with your mentee throughout the school year. Your coaches will be checking in with you about this and offering you support in helping your mentee work toward achieving the goals they set!

Mentor Growth and Development Plan for September-November plan is here.

Race and Equity

Noticing our biases and working to change our thoughts in the moment is a good first step toward change. We can also take action to intentionally live more inclusively. Some additional ideas for taking action include: 4.) Model neighborly behavior by sharing a card, food, or just introducing yourself to neighbors new and old. These small acts can go a long way in making someone feel included. 5.) Use inclusive language. It especially helps to ask what language people prefer.  ~Taken from https://lovehasnolabels.com/why-it-matters
